Rx For Low Back Pain
Duration: 18:41
Low back pain seems to be a curse of our times. One of the causes of this phenomenon could be tight outer hips and hamstrings, which then tug on the lower back. Too much time spent sitting at desks, hunching over computers and slouching on couches definitely contribute to the problem. This sequence seeks to address soft-tissue tightness, creating mobility and suppleness in the muscles and joints. You could even practice this sequence first thing in the morning before you even get out of bed! You don’t need any extra props or equipment. Please let me know if it works for you.

10-Minutes to Soothe, Quell and Calm Down
Duration: 09:20
This practice has very little movement. It begins with some time in Heart Bench and cues to follow your breath and open to your sensory experience. Next you transition to sitting for a few minutes of Nadi Shodhana, often called “Alternate Nostril Breathing.” This breath practice is believed to balance the two hemispheres of the brain; help regulate the endocrine system (your body’s hormones); and harmonize the flight/fight/freeze response of the sympathetic nervous system with the rest & digest response of the parasympathetic nervous system so you are able to respond to stimulation and down-regulate quickly with ease. It’s also believed to subdue anxiety and calm the mind. Click in on this offering anytime you’re feeling up-regulated, edgy/antsy, or simply stressed out and you want to be able to relax and re-set.
