Yoga Sutra 1.36 advises students to contemplate the effulgent, sorrowless inner light in order to remain steadfast on the path when overcome by attitudes and situations that derail your practice.  As the days have been growing darker and colder (in the Northern Hemisphere) many find their mood and energy levels also become dark and heavy, which makes it more difficult to roll out the yoga mat.
