About The Event

Utilize the week after the Autumnal Equinox to commit to your SELF: your practice, your authenticity, your dreams. Show up every morning from 6-8 am to breathe, to move, to excavate, integrate, release and reset.

Our practices will blend breath work, yin and slow flow yoga, visualization, meditation, philosophy, poetry and deep rest. Each day will offer insights into how to work with the energy of the Harvest Moon, which reaches its fullest expression just before we meet on Friday, the last day of the series. Every Full Moon offers opportunities to release with this one carrying extra significance toward endings. The Harvest Moon symbolizes the connection between life and death, nature’s continuous cycle of ripening and decaying, and offers an opportunity to wholeheartedly welcome darkness as an integral part of life. Also, take this time to reflect on all you are harvesting in your life, reaping the generous bounty of hard work and perseverance,  and celebrating achievements resulting from all you have labored for. Take the time to pause, reflect, and acknowledge all you have accomplished, basking in a non-boastful pride and deserved sense of satisfaction.

Optional extra activities for the week include: receiving prompts for journal writing, suggestions for things to do in the afternoon/evening, along with other ideas for detoxing/cleansing. Do your best to treat this as a bona fide retreat! Clear out your professional and social calendars and reserve space each day for unscheduled time (to rest, to wander, to actively ‘do nothing’). This week will be potent, personal, and positively transformative. The Harvest Moon will rise low on the horizon just after sunset on Thursday, September 28th. In its amber-glowing magnificence it looks larger and more impressive than other moons. Harness this energy to properly end all that has run its course as you create space to welcome with curiosity, passion and delight all that comes next  in this dusky new season.

Open to yoga practitioners of all ages/stages and experience levels. It will be helpful to have 2 yoga blocks, 2 yoga blankets and/or a yoga bolster or meditation cushion, certainly a yoga mat, and any other accoutrements you like (extra layers, an eye pillow, etc). If you don’t have all these props we will improvise. If possible clear out a wall space you would be able to put your legs on, and make an altar that can display devotional items (candles, pictures of ancestors/relatives, pine cones, etc).
