About The Event
Winter’s transition to springtime is ripe with freshness, optimism, and the possibility of new growth. Seeds crack open, snakes shed their skin, and butterflies make glorious escapes from the chrysalis, their wings strengthened by the battle for freedom; their flight proof of victory. As we begin to shake off the winter – and (hopefully!) the past three years of pandemic uncertainty - and emerge into our own season of vast potential it may be worth contemplating: what are the structures that have kept you bound and how can you break out of confinement? What aspects of your life are you ready to face toward the sun so they may be nourished and inspired to grow?
During this Spring Equinox Retreat Week we will meet from 6-8 am each morning to slough off the winter and prepare for tremendous growth. Just like gardening we will till the fertile soil of consciousness, plant seeds of intention, uproot the weeds of naysaying and doubt, water the garden with effort, sweat and maybe some tears, douse it with the light of attention and cultivate the patience necessary to allow things to sprout and bloom in their own time. Our methods will be time-tested yoga practices, including breathwork; yin, vinyasa and restorative yoga; guided visualizations, meditation and deep rest all accompanied by poetry, philosophy, inspirational quotes and stories, and time for deep internal listening. Our time spent together will clarify your vision, validate and fortify your intentions, and supercharge your being with the intelligent, creative force of the universe coursing freely through your body utterly aligned with your hopes and dreams. Become unstoppable; realize you are invincible.
Open to yoga teachers from all traditions and yoga practitioners of all ages/stages and experience levels. It will be helpful to have 2 yoga blocks, 2 yoga blankets and/or a yoga bolster or meditation cushion, certainly a yoga mat, and any other accoutrements you like (extra layers, an eye pillow, etc). And it would be just grand if you had a vacant wall space you could occasionally use for legs up the wall, etc. If you don't have these props, no worries. We'll improvise!
