The end of Daylight Savings Time reminds us that winter is approaching. Even if you can’t wait for sweater season, cozy fires, and snuggling up with bae - or a good book! - you might agree that the first week after changing the clocks is brutal. Although we in the Northern Hemisphere are said to gain an hour of sleep, the days (daze?) after the shift can be fraught with fatigue, listlessness and embodied confusion which might tip into overwhelm, sadness and depression. Sinking into yin yoga poses gives your body a chance to soften into the Earth and find its way into a new rhythm. In this style of yoga you let go of held tension while releasing energetic blockages and building inner energetic reserves. Our session will include breathing practices to help balance the endocrine system (which includes sleep cycles!) and yoga poses that are believed to target meridians/elements that correspond to the emerging season. Your internal clock will calibrate to the new time, and you will leave with a fresh perspective to help you embrace and enjoy the goodness hidden within the shorter, colder days.
