About The Event
The Yoga Sutra of Patanjali is one of yoga’s foundational philosophical texts—an exploration of the mind, the causes of suffering, and the practices that can help us meet our lives with greater clarity and freedom.
In this three-part series, we’ll explore selected teachings from the Sutras while practicing Yin Yoga: allowing the ideas to land not only intellectually, but experientially, in the body.
Each two-hour workshop will weave long-held Yin postures with conversation, reflection and occasional chanting of the Sanskrit sutras. Rather than attempting to “master” an ancient text, we’ll get curious about what these teachings might illuminate in our actual, modern lives.
The three workshops form a progression, but each stands on its own. Come for one, two or all three. No previous study of yoga philosophy—or experience with Yin Yoga—is necessary. For Yoga Teachers, Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) available.
The First Session: Friday, November 6, 6-8 pm
